Best Places to get a Salad

There are plenty of places to get a good salad but who has the best? In my opinion, you can't go wrong with the following places (this list will continue to be updated):

1. Crisp: http://www.crispfoods.com/ - There is a reason why Crisp took home Creative Loafing's Best of Charlotte 2009 award for "Best Lunch in Charlotte". This custom salad restaurant offers plenty of food for even the hungriest person in your party. Their produce is locally grown and they only use "in season" products. I suggest getting the Salmon salad (request it with no salt). The FCN is also AMAZING! Ask the "salad bartender" to go light on the dressing if you want to cut calories.
2. Brixx Pizza: http://www.brixxpizza.com/ - Now, I understand that ordering a salad at a delicious pizza place is difficult but I strongly suggest you give it a try. Their simple Brixx Salad is enough to actually give me cravings for more. Be sure to get the dressing on the side though since they tend to drown it and honestly, what is the point of having a salad when you can get a pizza unless it is a healthy option? Website lists it as under 300 calories, add chicken for another 170 something calories to up your protein intake. Brixx does post their nutritional information on their website so check that out before going.

Let's toss these all in together: Salad Bars: Jason's Deli, Ruby Tuesday and Souper Salad are all pretty awesome but remember... picking your own contents can get you in to trouble. Olives are packed full of sodium and we love our dressing. I suggest you take advantage of any dried fruits on the salad bar to add some flavor to take away the need for tons of dressing. Also, be careful of how much cheese and salty foods you pack into your salads.

What is the point

I have spent a lot of time trying to find restuarants in Charlotte that offer healthy options and places to go that provide healthy entertainment. In this blog, I will review places and things that promote good health!
